It is good to remember that all emotions are post schism. They seem to appear after I believe in separation. A Course In Miracles encourages me to wake up, to not look at many problems, many solutions, but one problem, one solution. The one perceived problem is the separation from God, which never occurred in Reality. The one solution to this is accepting the Atonement, accepting that only God is real, not the body, not the world, not my emotions, but only God and His Creation. I cannot control my emotions while holding on to a fake identity. I can only allow the Holy Spirit to wake me up. Amen.

Splendid example: When I was an early Course student, gosh, now thirty years ago, I had a tumultuous problem with a landlord. This landlord had previously been my friend. She and her husband had absolutely no regard for my rights after they talked me into moving into one of their apartments. In the end, I gave notice. They were quite angry at me and unjustly ripped off my damage deposit. I was so furious I sued them for it. I had to collect evidence of their travesties and get statements from people they had set up to witness that I had done damage, which was infuriating on its own. Through all of this, I was enraged for months. Well, I got my damage deposit back through the suit. But it was months before I realized I could have done all the things I did, given justified notice to the landlords, moved out and put together the suit... WITHOUT BEING UPSET. The upset contributed nothing. The result would have been the same, but I could have spared myself the misery. That was a big lesson, although to be honest, I've had to relearn it many times, although never in that dramatic a circumstance. We are so conditioned to react in these ways, it takes some time before we can completely stop. Repeat after me...the peace of God is my only goal.... It truly is the only worthy one.

This is a great example Margaret. It really describes the importance of choosing what we allow to affect us. Have a great day!
